Search

One of the cool little things you can have with a website is a counter that tells you how many people have visited. Mine gives you some fun details, like how they found me. I can actually click on a link and find people's google search terms.

Big Dunk gets a few searches. I think they are looking for basketball stuff. Sacrament of reconciliation got a hit recently, as did conditional baptism godparent.

What I don't know is if the people who surf over actually read any of the posts. Judging from their searches, I am guessing they are spiritual searchers, too.

So, I am going to say a little prayer for all the strangers who happen by the Big Dunk on their way to deeper relationship with God.

Yes, get baptised. Yes, confess. And if slamming a ball through a hoop works for you, do that too.

I wish you all peace and God's love.

Nice, Rachel.

Actually, I do read a blog written by a young guy and proud "hoops playing" theology student. Sometime, for fun check it out: Bittersweet Life @ http://bittersweetblue.blogspot.com

Thanks e-mom!

I surfed over to check out your hoops playing theology student and was hooked. I have added him to the blogroll. Thanks! (Check him out you guys...)

I like that he is named for an angel and lives in Kansas City, where I spent the first year of my married life.

Amen to that.

I must confess several of those hits googling for Big Dunk are in fact a busy seminarian who is addicted to your blog and has access to random computers where you are not bookmarked! When I have ingested just enough textbook to make me wonder if I am losing touch, I come back & take a dip in the pool, reminded that this silly set of tasks I am working on have a point. (Unlike most of my friends, you are available to chat 24/7.) Thank you for this little ministry!

Hi Amy!

It is great to hear from you!I have heard it said that if you want to lose your faith, go to seminary, LOL.I hope that is not true! I am interested to know how it is going for you.

Love+

One of my classes didn't start until this week...it's an upper level class & I should be way over my head, but the professor is positively brilliant and the material seems to consume itself. I targeted one class I felt would feed my soul (the other 2 are not entirely new material for me) and I am jump up and down happy wiht the choice tonight! (Lest you think me insane, I also am taking this pass/fail, a decision made final when the professor roared out laughing that this is my first semester.)

To sum up: Seminary is great. Kids are stepping up and helping out. Hubby is unbelievably wonderful. I've got ministry support at home, church and work. Certainly this season in life is a taste of the divine!

Toss up a prayer for me Sunday morning, I'll be preaching the lectionary text and my nerves are starting already!

Much love,
Amy
