Bumpus

died at about 2:45 this afternoon, in my brother's arms.

Her last day was very nice. She ate an oily can of tuna. Had a brief walk in the park. Took three healthy shits. Went swimming in the Providence River. Even flirted with an old flame.

I was grateful to be able to be there with my brother and his dog.

She was a good girl.

Most high, almighty Lord, our Creator, Yours is the praise, the glory, the honor and all blessings! To You alone do all things belong. Be praised for giving us the animals, birds and fish which fill Your world.

To Your gentle keeping, we commend Bumpus, this family's dog. Bumpus had trust in this family, as they have trust in You; We are on this earth together to give one another friendship, affection, and caring. Take our heartfelt prayers and touch Bumpus' family during this time of loss.

Your goodness is turned upon every living thing and Your grace flows to all Your creatures. May we think of You and thank You when we play with and care for our pets.

Be praised for making us so happy to have our pets and to have them to play with. We ask You, Lord, that we may be good to our pets always, so that they may be happy also.

Help us always to take care of them so that they will be healthy. O God, Your world is wonderful. May we all come into Your even greater world of the kingdom of heaven where we shall see even more wonderful things and where we shall live and love for ever.

This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thanks for all your prayers, you guys. Sweet and wonderful.

This has been a tough loss.

Bumpus' sister, Roo, by the way, seems to be coping very well. We are really grateful for that!

Rachel,
Thanks so much for your visit to my blog and the prayers you offered. I am so sorry to hear about Bumpus, what a lovely sweet face, you can tell she was loving and well-loved. I am in the midst of the same pain so I understand. Blessings to you and your brother and to Roo, I hope she is doing okay in the absence of her sister.
