On retreat

Dear friends in Christ,

Now that Holy Week is over I am going to take a retreat from my normal blog programming and try something new. For a month, I will check in regularly (weekly perhaps?) and answer the following questions:

1. Have I done my daily spiritual practice?

2. What unexpected opportunities has God put in my path since I last checked in?

3. Of the things I committed to doing, which have I done or not done since the last check in?

4. What am I being called to do between now and the next time I check in?

Think of it as an ongoing meme, if you will.

I'll see you back here in a few days.

Many blessings on your blog retreat. I am inspired but not ready at this point to be so publicly accountable....You have moved me to make sure and pray the Office tonight, which I haven't done in a while, so thank you.

If you are so moved, since you seem like quite a prayer warrior, I would really appreciate prayers for discernment. I have been posting about this on my blog but the short version is I was offered two postdoctoral fellowships for next year--praise God! But neither will be simple to take because of the logistics of my husband's work and moving the family and/or my commuting for one or two semesters. So I need to make the best decision I can, in consultation with DH, and pretty quickly since both programs want an answer yesterday, about which the Spirit would most like for us and how to move forward.

Many thanks!

Mother,

One of the things I feel called to do this week is start a prayer list, so I will certainly include you!

I won't be posting on my blog, but I certainly will be keeping up with everyone over at their places... so keep us posted, ok?

Thanks for your kind words on my blog today. Every time you leave a comment I think "AH! Crap! I keep forgetting to link to Rachel." Well I'm gonna do it right now. Have a good retreat, and thanks again for your kindness.

Adam,

I am strangely delighted that your first thoughts on seeing one of my comments is

"Ah! Crap..."

I must be doing something right, LOL.

I am excited to be in such good company on your blogroll. Thanks for the link!
