On bended knee... NOT!

Went to the Doctor today and discovered that I probably have bursitis, which is an inflamation of the lubrication sacks around my knee. We have no idea why it happened, but I am going to start on a perscription anti-inflammitory and see if it helps. I sure hope so. Last night I cried for much of the night. While I freely admit I am a wimp, I was surprised by the intensity of the pain.

I am greatly relieved that the Doc doesn't think I damaged anything. I was very concerned about having done some kind of structural damage. At this point, he doesn't think so.

I certainly appreciate your prayers. It is a very different world when you can't walk.

Love,
Rachel

Rachel, I'm so sorry to hear about your knee. I've been on prescription anti-inflammatories, and hope they will work as well for you as they did for me a few years ago. You are in my prayers.

Oh, thank you Songbird! I started on them this afternoon and while it hasn't been a 'miraculous' recovery, it has seemed to help with the pain a bit. I'll take another dose before bed and see how tonight goes.

I have been remarkably healthy in my life... so it is humbling to realize that the body can sometimes just not work.

I took them for an ankle that I injured, I kid you not, getting into bed. It was a good six weeks before whatever I had harmed seemed to be well, and it still bothers me occasionally. These things are so mysterious.
